So it is nearly a year from the day I first started on this crazy journey to the east and so it is that I find myself feeling both like a lifetime has passed and also like I am in the same place as a year ago. This is because I find myself spending time with the same people as last year this time! Life is strange! I am by no means complaining as of course this is my choice but it is funny how life works sometimes.
Many things have happened since last January so it is not as if I am treading water, but I find myself spending New Year’s Eve with the same people as last year right before I moved to China! Well life is nothing if unpredictable and I believe that the creator (if there is one) has an incredible sense of humor. Sure, I moved to china, got divorced, returned to Colorado to change my name, did a bit more travelling, and then decided to officially finish my master’s degree (yup I am officially educated now) and so here I am in the same place but a much different person than a year ago.
So as I look out onto a brand new year I wonder, where will I be next year at this time? What unpredictable things will have happened to me and will I look back on this coming year with a similar feeling of amazement at what has come about? I hope so; though unpredictable, 2010 has brought me many great blessings and wonderful life experiences. So for now, I am counting my blessings and giving a little prayer for some things I hope will come about next year. If it is anything like 2010, then I will not be disappointed! May 2011 bring all the adventurers out there (and I believe that every person is an adventurer of one kind or another) lots of love, peace, and blessings.
Happy New Year!
