Adventure

After a heavy night’s sleep, I got up and chatted with my cousins, had some much needed coffee and then headed over to the Crowne Plaza.  I was going back to Tiki Bongos but this time to shop – the owner of the shop was super sweet and let Michelle and me pick out some complimentary clothes as a thank you for serving drinks.  I got some great outfits including a beautiful, handmade silk fuchsia and purple dress and some fun bracelets and, hair flowers, a lei, for starters.  What a treat!

Saturday  was mostly about relaxing.  We lounged by the pool, gave ourselves manicures swam (without getting our hairdos wet), snacked, drank fresh coconut milk right out of the coconut, and shopped until we were content.  As the afternoon wore on, we changed out of our swimming suits and into our hula outfits for a bit more “work” which consisted of hula dancing to some of the bands.  It was lots of fun and definitely a workout.  I have missed hula dancing so this was perfect!  One of the bands was called the Hula Girls so it was definitely appropriate.  Here’s a pic in our dancing outfits.

In between sets – went into the Snake Pit, a room party that was nearby for a cocktail.  They even had a punch fountain set up for guests; these people take their parties seriously!  We couldn’t resist posing with the giant snake they had brought just for the occasion.
After a lot of fast and furious hula dancing, we watched the best dressed costume contest as well as some ukulele and comedy entertainment.  This the last big night of the event so but it was more mellow for me.  I went to a few room parties before calling it a night.

After so much partying the last two nights; I was tuckered out! So in retrospect, I think my favorite part of all of it was just how laid back everyone was but at the same time in the mood for fun!  It was so great that I would consider going again and I am not even that into tiki.  The event also got me thinking about Hawaii – I think I see a trip there in my future!
